Destiny Discover Learning Resources:  Databases and subscription websites are available on the Learning Resources "ribbon"  once you have logged into the Destiny Discover version of our online catalog.  

     Useful "Learning Resources" for this project include:
  • CBC Curio - searchable sites including Discover, BBC Channel, National Geographic Channel and News in Review  (log in using your vsb email address (your student [email protected]); they will send you a verification number that you need to copy and paste into the box as prompted).
  • Consumer Health Complete - search the "Popular Science magazine" ie - identical twins....
  • National Geographic Kids - searchable site, ie. "genetics", "Henrietta Lacks", etc.
  • Science in Context (GALE) - searchable site by listed topics or keying in your topic in the search box.

Resources found through the "Learning Resources" ribbon also provide MLA9 citations for you to copy and paste onto your Works Cited document. For resources that do not come with citations, there are several possible MLA9 citation generators for your Works Cited list, such as,  easybib.com  and BibMe. Select Manual Entry mode when using a citation generator as this will also teach you how to read a citation.  The OSLIS MLA9 citation generator is an excellent add-free option.
